THIS year is the 215th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Malaysia Police. Born on March 25, 1807, it has come a long way with a good track record in the policing and defence our country.
Like the Malaysian Armed Forces, the police fought in the war against the Communist Party of Malaya and confrontation with Indonesia. From the mere four departments it had when I joined the force in 1969, it has grown into a 10-department organisation to cater for the contemporary policing needs of the nation.
