Rethink our usage of plastics

I ALWAYS thought of myself as a “greenie”, as I would recycle my plastic bottles, bring my own food container to pack take-away food, and decline plastic bags when shopping. That was till my child’s school started a project to make ecobricks, which are plastic mineral bottles stuffed with plastic till full and then used as construction material.

I then started saving every piece of used plastic packaging passing through my household, washing those that were dirty and which previously would have been thrown out immediately. To my horror, I started to see how much plastic my environmentally-conscious family was actually disposing of each day!
