Prioritise public order and safety post-flood, not stifle press freedom by questioning reporters


As flood victims begin the rebuilding process, the police should put their efforts into maintaining public order and safety, not investigate reporters who were just doing their jobs.

On 21 December, 2021, Free Malaysia Today (FMT) reporter Sean Augustin covered the Sri Muda floods, reporting that Nadma had received flak over its management of the floods in the Klang Valley. Subsequently, the police have called him in for questioning on Wednesday (Jan 5).
