NUMB. That was how I felt when I first saw the recently-released 2021 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) timetable for the written papers.
The numbness soon turned to anger. As a parent of one of the pioneer batch of Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Menengah (KSSM) students, I am justified in my anger. These students have been lab rats for one new curriculum after another since they were in Year 1. They had to struggle with a new syllabus, online classes for the better part of their Form 4 and Form 5 during the Covid-19 pandemic, and a new examination format, and now they are facing a punishing SPM timetable as well!
