Be generous when you can afford it

DURING these times of the Covid-19 pandemic and movement restrictions, our small and petty traders and workers can do with whatever assistance those who are able can provide.

For instance, my newspaper delivery man charged RM2 a month. I thought this was far too little for a daily delivery service, rain or shine, except for the rare “no newspapers” days. So I decided to top it up to RM5. For the first three months, I gave him a RM5 note and said to keep the change.
