Full-scale lockdown would be welcomed

THE alarming rise in the number of new Covid-19 cases reported on Wednesday (6,075) and Thursday (6,806) has led many Malaysians to call for the government to impose tighter restrictions or a full-scale lockdown similar to the movement control order imposed from March 18 until May 4 last year.

A short poll conducted on Thursday night by the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (Insap) via Twitter, which garnered 3,489 respondents in less than 15 hours, showed that 90% supported the implementation of a full MCO.
