Road to appointing next MACC chief

I REFER to the report “Naming may go through Parliament” (The Star, Sept 3) on the statement by Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Datuk Seri Azam Baki that the process of appointing his successor would go through Parliament.

According to Azam, the matter was decided at a recent meeting of the Special Cabinet Committee on Anti-Corruption, which was chaired by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. But a committee by the same name under former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had also agreed on the same.
