I AM a senior citizen and retiree, and I depend on fixed deposit interests to cover my monthly expenses. Recently, I had an emergency and needed to withdraw a few of my fixed deposits prematurely. The deposits were kept in several local and one foreign bank.
All the banks concerned informed me that as of 2019, if any fixed deposits are prematurely withdrawn, no interest will be payable, regardless how long the deposit had been with the bank.
