Use the old way of spelling road names

I REFER to the above report “Call to standardise road names in PJ” (MetroCentral, The Star, Feb 21). I would say that there is a lack of knowledge of how proper nouns (including road names) are spelt in the national language.

When the common spelling system for Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia was formulated in 1970, one of the cardinal rules was that all proper nouns would continue to be written the traditional way.
