AS a secondary school student, I believe that learning world history is of great importance. It is true that STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) is the key to scientific change, and it is also true that civic change is not achieved through the learning of world history or other humanities subjects on their own. However, education plays a part in that it inspires civic change.
A motive for learning history is to avoid mistakes. The likes of long-dead tyrants inspired observant individuals to bring about the sort of change needed.
