Benefits of being vegetarian

HEALTH director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah has brought joy to the vegetarian community in Malaysia with his directive to cafeteria operators to provide pure vegetarian food for staff, patients and visitors in all medical facilities in this country. According to the report, “Canteens at govt medical facilities to provide pure vegetarian meals” (The Star, Nov 17), the directive is mandatory.

A big thank you to our Health Minister who himself is a vegetarian, and the director of the Health Ministry’s Food Division.
