SQUEAKY clean. Ask AI and it says this adjective means “completely, perfectly clean or entirely virtuous.” It goes on to quote Oxford Learner’s Dictionary that in the context of figurative reputation, it “describes a person or organisation known for being completely honest, morally correct, and above reproach.”

That’s a reputation or claim that’s hard to live up to, but at least one country or rather government, tries to do so. Yes, it’s that pesky little island state, that irritating, constant reminder of how we can do better – Singapore.
