Opening markets to unlock the potential of Malaysia’s MSMEs

MICRO, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are the backbone of Malaysia’s economy.

According to the Statistics Department, the sector contributed RM689.8bil, or 39.7% of gross domestic product (GDP), in 2025 while providing employment to 8.09 million people, equivalent to 48.7% of the country’s total workforce.
