A Merdeka peace of mind

FOR millions of citizens born before Aug 31, 1957, National Day celebrations today revive warm memories of that glorious moment 69 years ago when Malaya met its tryst with destiny.

A wave of patriotism is sweeping the country. It is therefore befitting to reflect on the meaning and significance of this timely and timeless ideal that cannot be reduced to a simple formula. One can only describe it, not define it.
