Datuk Dr. Jeffrey G. Kitingan
In the 14th General Election (GE14) in May 2018, the Sabah state assembly was hung and the kingmaker was Sabah STAR president Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.
His party had two assemblymen while Barisan Nasional had captured 29 seats (Umno 17, Parti Bersatu Sabah six, Upko five and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah one), and Parti Warisan Sabah/ Pakatan Harapan won 29 (Warisan 21, DAP six and PKR two).
