Face it – social media platforms aren’t special


Man up: Social media platforms need to step up. Enough time has been given to these giant tech companies which seem to be lackadaisical about dealing with the scammers and paedophiles on their platforms. — 123rf

IT came as a shock to the Chinese media. Sin Chew Daily’s Facebook page was suddenly suspended following a notice from Meta, the owner of the platform, last week.

This action came soon after a similar suspension by Facebook of China Press, whose Facebook page boasted over 2.5 million followers, earlier this year.
