WHEN a journalist from Utusan Malaysia asked Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming why the “I Lite U” campaign slogan was in English instead of Bahasa Malaysia, the exchange should have been uneventful – a simple question, a simple answer. Instead, it became a national controversy.

In the now-viral video, the minister could be heard warning the reporter that he would “call your editors” and suggesting the question was an attempt to “sabotage” a programme meant to promote Visit Malaysia 2026.
