A MAN, who was pronounced dead by doctors, was found to be alive while his family was preparing his body for the funeral, Malaysia Nanban reported.
Abimanyu Thaide, 65, who lives in Mumbai, India, was rushed to a private hospital by his son after he fell ill following an extended hospital stay for cancer treatment.
Doctors at the private hospital declared him dead and issued a death certificate, after which his family brought his body back home and began preparing for the funeral.
As he laid in rest at home, some family members noticed he still had a faint heartbeat and rushed him to a different hospital, where he regained consciousness.
The first hospital later addressed the matter, saying that the death certificate was given on a “compassionate basis” as the family had claimed Abimanyu had died.
However, the hospital administration eventually admitted it was their mistake to issue the death certificate without fully checking the patient.
