U.S. stocks close higher


NEW YORK, July 14 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks ended higher on Tuesday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.02 percent to 52,508.27. The S&P 500 added 0.38 percent to 7,543.59. The Nasdaq Composite Index increased 0.9 percent to 26,107.01.

Six of the 11 primary S&P 500 sectors ended in green, with technology and communication services leading the gainers by adding 1.25 percent and 1.13 percent, respectively. Meanwhile, health and consumer staples led the laggards by going down 1.91 percent and 1.38 percent, respectively.
