BAGHDAD, July 14 (Xinhua) -- Seven people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident in Iraq's western province of Anbar on Tuesday, local authorities said.
Two civilian vehicles collided on the road west of the provincial capital Ramadi, leading to the casualties, local police official Ali Hussein al-Dulaimi told Xinhua.
Excessive speeding and non-compliance with traffic rules caused the collision, Al-Dulaimi said.
The injured had been sent to hospital, local health authorities said.
Traffic accidents are common in Iraq due to poor road conditions and widespread disregard for safety regulations.
