Bursa technology director Ashish Rege steps down


PETALING JAYA: Bursa Malaysia has announced that its director of group technology, Ashish Jaywant Rege, will step down today, following the expiry of his fixed-term employment contract.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the local bourse said it has embarked on an exercise to identify and appoint a new replacement for Ashish.

“An announcement on the new appointment will be made in due course.

“In the interim, Tan York Kie, executive vice-president, applications, group technology, will assume the position of acting director, group technology effective July 14.”

According to Bursa Malaysia’s annual report, Ashish, an Indian national, has over 30 years of information technology experience in a wide range of areas.

This includes internet and mobile banking, eCommerce transaction infrastructure and information technology strategy, the report stated.
