Armenia secures 264 mln dollar in housing financing from World Bank


YEREVAN, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Armenia and the World Bank signed a package of financing agreements worth 264.4 million U.S. dollars to boost housing access and develop the country's mortgage market, local News.am agency reported on Thursday.

Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan and World Bank Country Manager for Armenia Fabrizio Zarcone signed the agreements, the report said.

The package includes a 240 million dollar non-concessional loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, part of the World Bank Group, along with 24.4 million dollars in grant financing from the Global Concessional Financing Facility.

The program was approved by the World Bank's Board of Executive Directors on Dec. 23, 2025.
