U.S. dollar little changed


NEW YORK, Aug. 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar was almost flat in late trading on Wednesday.

The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, added 0.01 percent to 98.233 at 3 p.m. (1900 GMT).

In late New York trading, the euro fell to 1.1632 dollars from 1.1644 dollars in the previous session, and the British pound climbed to 1.3497 dollars from 1.3480 dollars in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar bought 147.39 Japanese yen, higher than 147.38 Japanese yen in the previous session. The U.S. dollar slipped to 0.8025 Swiss francs from 0.8032 Swiss francs, and it fell to 1.3794 Canadian dollars from 1.3835 Canadian dollars. The U.S. dollar fell to 9.5320 Swedish kronor from 9.5590 Swedish kronor.
