QuickCheck: Were questions for the SPM 2026 English oral test leaked?

CLAIMS that questions for the SPM 2026 English oral test had been leaked have been spreading on social media.

The posts come as candidates sit for the test, ahead of the SPM written papers later this month.

So, were questions for the SPM 2026 English speaking test leaked?

Verdict:

FALSE

No, the Education Ministry's Examinations Board has confirmed that the viral claims of a leak are untrue.

In a Facebook post on Nov 4, the Board said its checks found that the information being shared was a list of general themes and predictions based on the content of the Standard Curriculum and Assessment Document (DSKP).

"Similarities in themes or keywords with the actual examination instruments do not prove that a leak of questions has occurred, as a theme can be developed into various forms of questions, situations and tasks," it said.

The Board stressed that the preparation and handling of examination instruments are carried out according to set standard operating procedures (SOP).

These procedures comply with security and confidentiality requirements in line with the Official Secrets Act 1972, it said.

All parties were reminded not to speculate or spread information that has not been verified.

"SPM 2026 candidates are advised to remain calm and focus on the examination currently under way," it said.

The Board added that it remains committed to ensuring the security, confidentiality and integrity of the SPM 2026 examination are safeguarded to guarantee fairness for all candidates.
