Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shamsudin Mamat has confirmed that a local man, who is a YouTuber and local football commentator, was injured after he was allegedly assaulted by two unidentified men at a petrol station near Bandar Sri Damansara.
He said the incident occurred at 7.56pm on Saturday (July 11) when the victim was inflating his vehicle’s tyres before he was approached by two men on a motorcycle.
ACP Shamsudin said initial investigations found that the suspects repeatedly assaulted the victim before recording the incident on video and fleeing the scene.
“As a result of the assault, the victim suffered a fractured eye socket and several other injuries.
“The motive is still under investigation, and efforts to trace both suspects are ongoing,” he said in a statement on Monday (July 13).
He said the case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
