MOST Malaysians use the MRR2 to get from one place to another, but a group of men captured on video last Thursday (June 4) appeared to have a rather different agenda in mind.
The footage, which spread quickly on social media, showed several individuals at a manhole along the busy highway doing something that had nothing to do with traffic.
Were these men really caught on camera stealing cables along the Middle Ring Road 2?
Verdict:

TRUE
Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday (June 6), saying police had detected the viral video at approximately 5pm on Friday (June 5) showing several individuals believed to be stealing cables from a manhole along the highway.
"The complainant said that he had stopped his vehicle by the roadside when he noticed a grey vehicle parked nearby. He then saw four men loading cut cables into the vehicle," Khairul Anuar said.
"He then started recording the incident until all four suspects left the area, and subsequently went to the police station to lodge a report,” he said, adding that the video has since gone viral on social media.
ACP Khairul said the matter was still under investigation and that the suspects were still being traced.
