Recently, a video of a lorry without a driver ramming several vehicles went viral on social media.

A lorry parked on the shoulder moved on its own and crashed into five other vehicles on Jalan Persiaran Damai Perdana on Tuesday (Jan 27).

Kajang OCPD, Asst Comm Naazron Abdul Yusof, said the accident occurred at about 12.45pm.

"The accident occurred when a lorry, which had been parked on the road shoulder and left there by its driver who went out for a meal, suddenly moved on its own and hit five vehicles on both sides of the road.

"The incident caused damage to all the vehicles involved, but the drivers and passengers did not sustain any injuries," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Jan 28).

He said the case was being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

"The public with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Ahmad Zahrein Muhd Suod, at 017-381 8422.

"Road users are advised to practice prudent driving, obey road rules and always be careful while driving," he said.
