A VIDEO of a cat accompanying its elderly owner on car rides has gone viral on social media, capturing the hearts of viewers.

The feline displays an unusual fondness for vehicle journeys, immediately appearing whenever its owner starts the car engine.

Does this Kota Baru cat truly enjoy going on car rides with its owner?

Verdict:

TRUE

A cat named Cuyen will certainly appear and jump into the car to accompany its owner every time the elderly man starts his vehicle's engine.

The daughter of the elderly man, Farzana Mohammad, 30, who lives in Kota Baru, Kelantan, said her father, Mohammad Mohamad Amin, 74, began caring for Cuyen after finding the cat by the roadside whilst returning from work.

"Since my father found Cuyen when he was small, he has been very close to him.

"If my father just starts the car engine, Cuyen immediately comes and wants to follow," Farzana told Sinar Harian.

"Wherever he goes, it follows. Cuyen doesn't cause any trouble, he just sits quietly watching the scenery.

"My father has even prepared a special place in the car for it," she added.

Farzana, who is a trader, said her father often takes Cuyen for drives around their residential area.

According to her, their family actually has nine cats, but Cuyen is the closest and most affectionate with her father.

"Cuyen is a bit different, he is smart and very affectionate. If my father starts the car engine, it immediately follows.

"If my father leaves the house, he will wait at the door," she said.

The close relationship between her father and Cuyen attracted widespread attention when a video of them shared through the TikTok account @kerepekpisangsnow went viral on social media with nearly one million views.

"I didn't expect the video to go viral. I just shared it because I thought it was cute seeing my father and Cuyen.

"It turns out many people liked it," she said.
