WHEN it comes to multi-car crashes involving parked vehicles, rumours can run rampant faster than traffic after flashing lights appear at a junction.

It was claimed recently that a driver ploughed into four vehicles in Penang, and that this happened near a place of worship.

Is this true?

TRUE

Police have arrested a man suspected of drink-driving after he rammed his car into four parked vehicles near a house of worship on Jalan Kenari, Bayan Lepas on Monday (Sept 1) night.

Southwest District Police Chief Asst Comm Sazalee Adam said authorities were alerted at 11.55pm that a driver had crashed into four vehicles.

"Traffic police received information about a drink-driving case involving a man and promptly responded, arresting the 55-year-old driver at the scene. The man did not sustain any injuries during the arrest,” he said,

ACP Sazalee added in a statement on Tuesday (Sept 2) that the man has no criminal record and added that the car driven in the incident has been seized in the course of the investigation.
