SOMETIMES, fights happen on the road when one motorist gets angry with how another person is driving.
And with that said, it can grab attention when the one at the receiving end of the anger for bad form on the road – whether real or perceived – is someone who everyone expects to know better, like a driving instructor.
It was claimed recently that a driving instructor was attacked in Batu Pahat by a motorcyclist angry with how the victim was handling their car on the road.
Is this true?
VERDICT:
TRUE
A driving school teacher has sustained injuries after he was attacked by a motorcyclist following a dispute in Batu Pahat.
Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Abdullah Sani said the 56-year-old victim lodged a police report at 7.24pm on Tuesday (Aug 12) and added that the preliminary investigation found that the incident happened at 1.20pm on the same day at Taman Mutiara, Parit Sulong.
“The 33-year-old motorcyclist apparently stopped the victim who was driving, believed to be due to dissatisfaction over his manner of driving,” he said in a statement on Wednesday, Aug 13.
He said the suspect punched the front windscreen of the victim’s car, causing it to crack.
“The victim then continued driving to the Parit Sulong police station and was followed by the suspect,” he said.
“When both parties got out of their vehicles, the suspect punched the victim, causing an injury to his forehead, before leaving the scene,” he said.
ACP Shahrulanuar added the suspect was detained in the Parit Raja area for further investigation.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief and Section 323 of the same Act for voluntarily causing hurt, he said.
