QuickCheck: Is the NRD recruiting new staff this year?

GOVERNMENT jobs are often considered secure and provide various benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and job stability. Recently, job offers for various positions at the National Registration Department (NRD) have gone viral. Is it true that the government agency is organising a recruitment drive?

Verdict:

FALSE

The National Registration Department (NRD) has warned job-seekers to be vigilant against fake job advertisements using its name, which has gone viral on third-party websites and social media.

“The public is advised to be cautious of any job offer advertisements using the name of NRD that are spread through third-party websites or social media.

“The NRD does not have any new staff recruitment for this year,” it said on its official Facebook account.

It added that all job applications at NRD or any government agency can only be made through the official Public Service Commission (SPA) portal at www.spa.gov.my.
