A road rage incident during peak hours in Putatan involving a motorcyclist punching a vehicle’s window after losing control of his bike, has gone viral on social media.
In the 11-second video, the motorcyclist bumped into the vehicle’s side mirror before seemingly losing control and crashing into a car in front, then falling.
The motorcyclist quickly stood up, ran towards the first car he had accidentally brushed against, tried to open the door, and punched the window repeatedly.
Penampang OCPD Supt Sammy Newton said the incident happened in the afternoon on Friday, March 28.
He said they later found out that the person is a 19-year-old local man who had lost control of his bike prior to the incident.
"We received a report about this case at 3.20pm, and investigations are based on the accident," he said in a statement.
As for the punching incident, both parties have agreed to settle the matter amicably, said Supt Newton.
He urged the public to be careful on the road and to abide by regulations, while also calling on the public to stop circulating the videos.
