IN A twist fit for an action movie, a motorcyclist in George Town took road rage to a whole new level.

The incident, caught on camera, quickly went viral, leaving viewers in disbelief.

Could it really be true that a metal chain became a weapon in this roadside drama?

A local man has been remanded for three days to assist with investigations into mischief and property damage involving a metal chain.

George Town OCPD Asst Comm Abdul Rozak Muhammad said a 33-year-old man has been arrested after a woman filed a police report stating that a man flung a metal chain at her car windscreen.

The incident occurred on Christmas Day, Dec 25, at around 1.48pm.

The complainant, a 36-year-old woman, was driving along Penang Road when she noticed a motorcyclist suddenly swinging a metal chain at her car windshield.

She is unsure of the man's motives.

The Criminal Investigation Division apprehended the suspect near Jalan Padang Tembak in Air Itam on the same day.

The man, a factory worker, tested negative for drugs but was found to have two prior criminal records.

The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing damage or loss.

Photographs and a short video clip of the incident have since gone viral online.
