QuickCheck: Is a local baker offering RM5,700 salaries for general worker positions?

RECENTLY, a local baker posted a rather tempting job offer on the Sungai Besi and Bandar Tasik Selatan Community Facebook Page, and the post has since gone viral.

In the job advertisement, the company said it was seeking male and female candidates between the ages of 18-50 to be hired as a general worker at their factory.

It added that it welcomed all candidates – even those without any job certification – and offered a salary ranging from RM3,500 to RM5,700.

The package also included hostel accommodation, transportation, loan availability, EPF, Socso and allowances and specified that the job applicant must also be a Malaysian citizen.

Is this true?

VERDICT

FALSE

In a post on its official Facebook account, Massimo Bread said the job advertisement was not true and warned internet users to not spread false information regarding the job advertisement.

“This is a warning; the notice is fake news, please do not spread it,” it said.

However, to not disappoint internet users who were initially excited about the job advertisement, the company called on job applicants to contact them for job opportunities by providing their toll free number.
