QuickCheck: Did a fender-bender cause a fight in Klang?

THERE is nothing unusual if a fender bender leads to a heated verbal exchange by the side of the road. That's part and parcel of driving in Malaysia.

However, one such incident that was caught on camera has led to a lot of buzz on social media as it caused traffic to halt to a crawl.

Is it true that traffic was halted after two men got into an argument over an accident in Klang?

Verdict:

TRUE

South Klang Police District Chif ACP Cha Hoong Fong confirmed that a man had lodged a police report on August 23 at 2.20pm after his car was hit from the back by a driver on another sedan.

This was following a video of two local men fighting in the middle of a busy road in Klang shared by on X (formerly Twitter) that went viral.

The complainant recorded the video of the argument between them. In the video, the other driver who was wearing a black leather jacket claimed to know officers from the Klang police station.

While the complainant also insisted on wanting to be compensated for the accident.

A notice had also been sent requesting the presence of the black jacket-wearing driver under Section 111 of the Criminal Procedure Code at the Klang IPD Traffic for further investigation.

ACP Cha urged those who witnessed the incident to come forward and call the investigating officer Sergeant Mohammad Amirrul Roseli at 0179469798.

He also urged road users to be more mindful and courteous while on driving.
