On the evening of Sept 1, the police received a distress call from a 28-year-old man regarding a break-in at a Taman Bukit Tunku home in Kuala Lumpur.

After rushing over, they arrested a man who had set fire to the caller's curtains.

The 30-year-old suspect, who was suffering mental problems, had also stubbed out his lit cigarette on a sofa and used the same to damage wall picture decor.

He was sent to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for treatment, and the case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief.
