Beware fake MOH personnel conducting house checks

PUTRAJAYA: The Health Ministry does not carry out house-to-house swab tests unless the residents are in an enhanced movement control order (MCO) area, warns Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said the public should be wary of those who come knocking on their door, claiming they are there to do such tests, as they may fall prey to scams, either to cheat or to commit crime such as robbery.

UPDATE: No bogus MOH team making rounds as alleged in viral video, say cops

“The Health Ministry will only go door-to-door to do swab tests if you live in an area where the enhanced MCO is enforced. Otherwise, health authorities will not do this.

“If there are people who come to the house claiming to be from the ministry and they want to do a swab test on you, do not let them in and lodge a police report so that action can be taken against these unscrupulous people, ” he said in his daily briefing here on Tuesday (June 15).

Ismail was commenting on reports of cases where individuals claiming to be health authorities are doing house-to-house swab tests.

He said that the ministry had lodged a police report on the matter.
