Probe papers on Negri proclamation sent back to cops, says AGC

PETALING JAYA: The Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) has returned investigation papers regarding allegations that Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim was forced to sign an Instrument of Proclamation to the police for further action.

The AGC said in a statement on Tuesday (Nov 3) it had reviewed the investigation papers submitted by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) on Oct 30 concerning the incident.

“The investigation was opened under Section 506 of the Penal Code after the Mentri Besar claimed he had signed a proclamation relating to a change in the position of the institution of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan under undue influence.

“Following a thorough review, it was found that several further steps had to be carried out by the investigating officer before any decision could be made.

“The investigation paper would therefore be returned to the police for further action,” it added.
