PETALING JAYA: Wong Kar Gee has helped Malaysia to achieve the six-gold target at the Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya after winning the men's T12 long jump event.
The Kota Kinabalu-born Kar Gee's opening leap of 6.74m was enough for him to clinch the gold medal.
He cleared 6.60m, 6.47m, 6.36m, 6.39m and 6.40m on his remaining jumps.
The victory is an improvement for the 35-year-old, who previously claimed silver in the same event at the 2018 edition in Jakarta.
Uzbekistan's Sevinchbek Khusanov secured the silver with a 6.54m jump while host nation representative Daiki Ishiyama took the bronze with 6.48m.
It is the sixth gold for Malaysia at the Games with two days of competition remaining.
