Proton launches X50 Sport Edition with RM1,999 upgrade package

KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd has launched the X50 Sport Edition (SE), offering 15 exterior and interior enhancements for an additional RM1,999 over the standard Flagship variant.

In a statement, Proton said the Sport Edition is offered as an upgrade package rather than a separate vehicle variant.

The enhancements include black exterior trim, 18-inch alloy wheels, front, side and rear skirtings, as well as red stitching on the steering wheel, seats and door trims.

The Sport Edition retains the flagship variant's 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, producing 181 PS and 290 Nm of torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

It also comes with a 14.6-inch infotainment display supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside 15 advanced driver assistance features, including Auto Park Assist.

Proton deputy chief executive officer Datuk Ir Abdul Rashid Musa said the Sport Edition offers additional styling features while retaining the Flagship variant's performance, technology and safety specifications.

“By building on the flagship variant, we are giving customers an opportunity to enjoy a sportier and more distinctive Proton X50 while retaining its proven performance, advanced technology and safety features.

“We believe this makes the Sport Edition an attractive proposition for customers looking for a new signature from the King of SUVs,” he said.

The X50 Sport Edition is priced at RM102,299 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM104,299 in East Malaysia, excluding insurance and after an October 2026 rebate of up to RM13,000.

The vehicle is available at authorised Proton dealerships nationwide, with a five-year unlimited-mileage warranty, free labour for six services and a five-year in-car data package of 2GB per month, subject to terms and conditions.
