KUALA LUMPUR: Political parties under the deregistered Perikatan Nasional have yet to decide which logo to use for the Melaka state election, says Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan.
This follows the coalition's deregistration earlier Tuesday (Oct 20) by the Registrar of Societies (ROS) under Subparagraph 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act 1966.
The Perikatan secretary-general said there is still ample time for discussions among parties aligned under the coalition.

He cited the 2018 general election, when Pakatan Harapan component parties contested under PKR’s logo, saying that arrangement was not opposed by DAP, Bersatu or Amanah.
"Even parties that are not registered as established political parties can contest. Independent candidates (can use)... all sorts of symbols," he told a press conference in Parliament on Tuesday.
"Perikatan comprises PAS, Wawasan, Gerakan, MIPP and Pejuang. We can discuss (the choice of logo) among ourselves.
"There is still plenty of time for us to decide which seats we will contest, which candidates we will field and which logo we will use."
The ROS deregistered Perikatan citing an inadequate response to a show-cause notice issued last month.

Meanwhile, Perikatan is scheduled for a hearing on Thursday (Oct 22) of its inter partes application for a stay of the ROS suspension order, after the High Court granted it leave to commence a judicial review but declined to grant an interim stay.
The Melaka state election is scheduled for Nov 14, with nominations on Oct 31 and early voting on Nov 10.
Takiyuddin also hoped the court will consider its application in light of the constitutional right of the people of Melaka to choose on polling day.
"We are also defending the rights of the people of Melaka who want Perikatan Nasional," he said.
