Long-serving Ipoh Chin Woo association president Ooi Foh Sing dies at 86

 IPOH: Prominent Chinese community leader Datuk Ooi Foh Sing has passed away.

Ooi, the long-serving president of Ipoh Chinese Chin Woo Athletic Association, passed away on Sunday (Oct 11) at about 2.35am. He was 86.

Ooi joined the association in 1953 and served as the association's president since 2011.

He also spent eight years as the Federation of Chin Woo Associations Malaysia secretary-general and was a two-term national president.

Ooi was known for his dedication to preserving Chinese martial arts, cultural heritage, and spearheading various large-scale community events.

He had also acted as assistant registrar for mass wedding ceremonies held at Wisma Chin Woo on memorable dates.
