MELAKA: Melaka Pakatan Harapan is finalising negotiations with parties that have similar aspirations, including Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), to form a ‘PH Plus’ collaboration to contest the upcoming Melaka state polls.
Melaka Pakatan chairman Adly Zahari said the negotiations were being conducted based on decisions made at the coalition’s Presidential Council meeting.
"The negotiations also include Bersatu, but any form of cooperation will only be announced after the process has been completed,” he told a press conference after attending the launch of Amanah’s election machinery in Duyong here on Saturday (Sept 19).
When asked about the possibility of collaborating with Barisan Nasional, Adly said that, so far, no negotiations had been held with the party.
In July, Melaka Pakatan announced its decision to withdraw from Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh's administration, brushing aside calls for further negotiations after reaffirming its opposition to the creation of nominated assemblymen.
Meanwhile, Adly, who is also Deputy Defence Minister, said the distribution of seats within Pakatan among PKR, Amanah and DAP had been finalised, including the allocation of eight seats to Amanah.
Among the state seats that Amanah are set to contest are Bukit Katil, Durian Tunggal, Telok Mas and Merlimau.
Also present at the press conference were Amanah president Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, who is also the Agriculture and Food Security Minister, and Amanah deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa. – Bernama
