PETALING JAYA: A would-be husband does not have to sign an undertaking to fulfil his responsibilities towards his future wife and family, says PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Commenting on the confidence and supply agreement (CSA) signed by certain MPs, he said this was like a government, which does not have to sign an agreement to fulfil its responsibilities and distribute its revenue equally to the people.
"The CSA is an approach of the Dajjal (false messiah) where it is no longer about a trust that must be fulfilled but a means to be in power through coercion," he said in a statement on Facebook page on Tuesday (Nov 3).
Abdul Hadi said that any party forming the government had a duty to fulfil its responsibilities to the people without first requiring them to enter into an agreement or make an undertaking.
"It is common practice that national revenue belongs to the people. This includes revenue collected directly through various forms of taxation.
"As this tax revenue involves the use and needs of all, its benefits must be returned to everyone, regardless of whether they voted for the governing party or the Opposition," he said.
On Oct 29, the CSA was signed by six Bersatu MPs, six former Bersatu MPs and several others, including Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
Under the agreement, the MPs will support Budget 2027 in return for equal constituency development allocations from the Federal Government.
Government spokesman Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, after the Cabinet meeting on Oct 30, said that the agreement was open to any MP who wished to sign it.
