Supporters gather at KLIA ahead of Tuanku Muhriz's arrival

SEPANG: Supporters of Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir have begun gathering in a show of support at KL International Airport 1.

It is learnt that the Negri Sembilan Ruler is expected to arrive back in Malaysia at about 9.50pm on Thursday (Sept 17).

Members of the media have also begun gathering near the Special Lounge here, with a tight security presence is seen at the entrance to the lounge.

This follows a gathering organised by Profans, Waris Dato Siamang Gagap, Waris Negeri Sembilan and Pekan in support of Tuanku Muhriz.

The planned gathering comes amid an escalating dispute over the position of the Negri Sembilan Ruler.

In a statement purportedly issued by the state executive council (exco) on Wednesday (Sept 16), the members had stated that Tuanku Muhriz's removal as the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan in April was legitimate.

The exco added that Tuanku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja'afar was now the new Ruler of Negri Sembilan.

On Sept 9, former mentri besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the current state government had publicly stated that the proclamation document did not satisfy the processes and procedures stipulated under the state laws.

It also said the proclamation was invalid, unconstitutional, and unenforceable.

On Aug 3, state Mentri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim signed an instrument of proclamation to remove Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as state Ruler.

But about a month later, Ismail said he was made to sign the document under duress and lodged a report on the matter.
