KUALA LUMPUR: Serian in Sarawak once again recorded very unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings due to the haze as of 6pm on Friday (Sept 11).
Based on data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) portal, the district recorded an API reading of 222.

Meanwhile, 10 other areas also in Sarawak registered unhealthy levels.
The areas with unhealthy readings were Sri Aman (186), Samarahan (185), Kuching (181), Sarikei (160), Samalaju (157), Bintulu (157), Sibu (156), Mukah (153), Miri (151) and the Miri Industrial Training Institute (126).
Overall, 48 areas nationwide were reported at moderate levels.
This includes Pasir Gudang, Johor, which recorded an unhealthy level API reading earlier on Friday.
Nine other areas recorded good readings.
An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 (moderate), 101 to 200 (unhealthy), 201 to 300 (very unhealthy), and 301 and above (hazardous).
