KUALA LUMPUR: TSH Resources Bhd
has offered to voluntarily engage independent assessors at its own expense to examine its operations, corporate relationships and supply chains in connection with fires in Indonesia that have contributed to transboundary haze.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the plantation group said it had written to Singapore's National Environment Agency (NEA) confirming its willingness to engage assessors from the Singapore government's panel.
The move follows notices issued by NEA to its Singapore-incorporated subsidiaries, TSH Oversea Pte Ltd and TSH Global Plantation Pte Ltd, under Section 10(1) of Singapore's Transboundary Haze Pollution Act 2014.
“The company will cooperate with the assessors in carrying out their assessment, in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements, and as may be directed by NEA,” it said.
TSH said it shared the Singapore government's concerns over the impact of the fires and haze and welcomed the opportunity to engage with the relevant authorities and independent assessors.
It added that it would continue to cooperate fully and transparently with the authorities.
TSH said it would make further announcements if there were material developments.
