Nine students lightly hurt after bus topples over near Kundasang


KOTA KINABALU: Nine students escaped with minor injuries after a bus carrying 35 students and a teacher from SM Sains Sabah here tipped over and landed on its side along the main road to Kundasang.

Kota Belud fire station chief Elge Bakuk said the nine injured students received initial treatment at the scene before being sent by ambulance to Hospital Kota Belud following the accident at the Simpang Tiga junction of the Kota Belud-Kundasang Road at about 11am on Monday (Aug 31).

The chartered bus was carrying a total of 36 passengers, he said.

He said two personnel and one emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) vehicle were dispatched to the site, 39km from the station.

No further details on the accident were available at the time of writing.
