KUALA LUMPUR: Futsal and netball courts became a platform for friendship and camaraderie as police personnel and officers along with members of the media came together for a series of friendly matches in Setapak here on Thursday (Aug 27).
The friendly games involved teams from the Inspector-General of Police Secretariat (USKPN), Bukit Aman Corporate Communications and the Crime Journalists Association (CiJA).
USKPN corporate communications chief Asst Comm Julina Salehuddin said the matches were held in a relaxed and sporting atmosphere while promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening ties between police personnel and media practitioners.
“The programme also coincides with the spirit of National Month.
“It serves as a platform to further strengthen cooperation and the relationship between the police and our media partners,” she said.
Meanwhile, CiJA president Safeek Affendy Razali said the event brought together media practitioners from various organisations, including The Star, Sinar Harian, Berita Harian, Kosmo!, Bernama, Harian Metro and Utusan Malaysia.
“This friendly match is very much welcomed as it helps cultivate a healthy lifestyle among media practitioners.
“The futsal and netball games also serve as platforms for CiJA to strengthen camaraderie, particularly with members of the police force,” he said.
