JOHOR BARU: Police have arrested eight people over a video showing a group of motorcyclists allegedly stopping traffic before two of them raced along the Linkedua Expressway in Johor.
Kulai OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said the suspects, aged between 26 and 45, would be brought before the Kulai Magistrate’s Court for a remand application today.
In a statement yesterday, the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) said it had received a report over the video, which showed two motorcyclists racing along the expressway from the Senai Utara Toll Interchange towards the JPO Interchange on Saturday.
“The Kulai JSPT is conducting an investigation to identify the motorcyclists and other individuals who were present at the scene.
“Police have also contacted PLUS Malaysia Bhd to obtain CCTV footage from the location. A person believed to have been at the scene has also been identified.
“Further investigations are ongoing,” it said.
